Society urges members to protest over plans to include Green Belt in LBE’s Housing Assessment

The Enfield Society has written to members asking them to write to their local councillors and MPs over Enfield’s plans to include substantial amounts of Green Belt in its Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment. To coincide with this call, The Society has joined with Enfield RoadWatch, Better Homes for Enfield, Enfield Climate Action Forum and CPRE, in issuing a joint press release.

The coalition of Enfield and London campaigners has released a report sharply criticising Enfield Council’s approach to new housing. We say the latest attempt to oblige release of Green Belt land is unlikely to solve Enfield’s housing crisis and ignores the vast amounts of previously-developed brownfield sites within the borough in need of regeneration.

Members (and the public!) are urged to raise this with their local councillors and MPs.
