After eight years of campaigning and fundraising, the Firs Farm Community Hub is open. It is
an exciting new home for the Friends and a community space with café, toilets and other
facilities to share with local residents.
The Friends have raised more than £300,000 to buy and fit out the modular hub building.
This has been raised through applications to grant bodies, crowdfunding and local
community events. More than £30k was raised by the Friends of Firs Farm Crowdfunder page.
Visitors can now enjoy excellent coffee & snacks throughout the day—the best coffee in an
Enfield park!
The café will be open seven days a week from 8am to 4pm, with extended hours proposed
during the summer months.
Fundraising now continues—the next target is £20,000 to landscape the outside area and
provide tables and outdoor seating. You can donate via the Friend’s SumUP crowdfunding page.
The building is open to the public and the toilets will be available during opening hours. No
purchase is necessary. We are especially pleased to be providing the first Changing Places
toilet for people with special needs in an Enfield blue/green space.
Unfortunately, we are unable to allow dogs (other than assistance dogs) into the hub; but
there is a takeaway hatch at the side of the hub, with doggy water and treats. Fundraising is
resuming to landscape the front and side of the hub, tables and chairs for visitors to enjoy
our wonderful Firs Farm.
