The Enfield Society has helped fund this year’s Open House by granting Enfield Council £3,550—the majority of the entrance fee—without which the Borough would not have been represented. Applications are now open for entrants to this year’s programme.
Open House
Open House Festival is a London-wide festival that opens-up and celebrates the city’s architecture, special places, and neighbourhoods, with free open days and events taking place across all 33 London boroughs. You can find out more here Open House Festival 2024 — Open City (open-city.org.uk)
Enfield Council wish to commission creatives in Enfield to participate in Open House festival through
responding creatively to a building of your choosing within the London Borough of Enfield and delivering an event in or outside that building.
You may wish to hold a performance, talk, deliver a workshop or something else entirely! We are keen to commission ideas that reveal and share the understanding, interpretation, knowledge, or feelings that connect or disconnect you as a creative individual to your chosen building.
LBE and The Enfield Society are keen to share your passion or reservation that you may have to a building. This is to encourage wider understanding and relationships between people and buildings in Enfield, as selected by Enfield creatives.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Enfield creatives to participate and promote their work within in a London wide festival.
Please note that it is expected that you will approach the building manager to ensure you are able to hold an activity onsite. LBE can support you with this.
Eligibility
The chosen building must be within the London Borough of Enfield. Applicant must be a creative individual based in Enfield and over 18 years of age.
Criteria for selection
Selection will be based on the proposal. Applicants will be assessed on:
- the strength of the proposal
- feasibility of the proposed approach
- value for money
In addition to the above, please note that we will select ideas that present a wide variety of buildings and locations within location.
Deadlines
Submissions: 1st July 09:00
Funding awarded: 5th July
Open House weekend: 21st or 22nd of September
Fees
LBE has a budget of £350 as a one-off fee to deliver an activity on either Saturday 21st and/or Sunday 22nd of September. Please note that we cannot provide an additional fee for the same activity to take place on both days.
