Council wins £0.5m grant for more work on Enfield Chase

Enfield Council has been awarded £500,000 through the second round of the Mayor of London’s Green and Resilient Spaces Fund. The funding will create a further 50 hectares of publicly accessible woodland by 2025.

This phase of the project will also improve connectivity by creating new paths, upgrading existing paths and adding way-finding including to and from Gordon Hill Station. It will also improve accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists to the newly restored woodland. There are several distinctive gateways including Crews Hill and Gordon Hill Stations, Rectory Farm and Botany Bay to the east where connectivity is currently very limited.

The Enfield Society wrote a supportive letter for the bid earlier this year.
