A project working to create an Enfield Living Memorial, for those lost during the pandemic, is holding a public drop-in day at Enfield Town Park on Sunday 25th September between 12.30 and 4.00pm, near to the park café.
The Enfield Living Memorial is marking the collective loss and bereavement of the people of Enfield with a glade of trees in the shape of a heart, an emblematic fire sculpture and then permanent sculpture made in the shape of a phoenix. Creating a place for personal and collective reflection for all. The location of the memorial is in the centre of our Borough at Enfield Town Park. [Above]
The project is being facilitated the Enfield Soroptimists working with artist Joe Robinson and supported by a wide range of local groups and businesses. After a year’s hard work the heart shape of trees is now planted and settling in. The project is moving to the next phase, looking at the sculpture and completion.
To mark that we are having an informal drop-in day at the park where people can come and find out more, chat about the memorial, and look at our plans. The event is open to all to pop by or stay and chat. We’ll be there under a marquee from 12.30pm till 4pm, set up close to the park café with its facilities and refreshments.
