Walk: Royal Victoria to Woolwich
10 April
Meet 10.45 outside the Royal Victoria DLR Station and the group will then walk to the nearby Royal Docks “terminus” of the IFS Cloud Cable Car.
The standard fare for the Cable Car is currently £6 but there may be a concession on the day for Freedom Pass/60 Plus, but such tickets have to be bought at the ticket office on the day of travel, not in advance nor online.
The journey over the Royal Docks and The Thames takes about 10 minutes. For anyone wishing to keep on the ground, suggest they be at the cable car’s southern “terminus” by 11.00 (about 5 minutes walk from North Greenwich Jubilee Line Station) to await the main party.
After landing, the combined group will walk The Thames Path via many interesting sculptures and The Thames Barrier to the Royal Arsenal Heritage site at Woolwich for lunch and option to finish. Bring lunch or food available. Then after lunch, and assuming the Woolwich Free Ferry is running to the north bank, there will be a short walk to King George V DLR Station for return travel.
