Old fire station, Southbury Road, 1886 Caption in picture reads "Fifty years ago ... Enfield's Fire Brigade was a very modest voluntary affair, the engine of those days being housed in what is now a shop in Southbury Road. Mr. Pike, the turncock, and Mr. Murray, chief officer, are standing in the doorway.
