Caption in picture reads "Fifty years ago ... Enfield's Fire Brigade was a very modest voluntary affair, the engine of those days being housed in what is now a shop in Southbury Road. Mr. Pike, the turncock, and Mr. Murray, chief officer, are standing in the doorway. Just beyond the Fire Brigade Station is the Post Office of 50 years ago. 1886"
