PSA gathering, July 1911
|
The PSA (Pleasant Sunday Afternoon) movement was founded by John Blackham, a deacon of Ebeneezer Congregational church, West Bromwich to provide a little relief in the Midlands by providing a regular non-denominational Sunday afternoon meeting with something of interest. The meetings were to be "Brief, Bright and Brotherly", and became a 'brotherhood'. The image is labelled "P.S.A. demonstration", but it appears to be be a peaceful meeting with men and women in hats and a pram in the foreground. The image is in History of Enfield vol.2, p.333.
