I think I joined the choir as a young lad in 1955 and had a crush on a choir girl who, with her blonde hair and blue eyes, looked like an angel. Ben Ross was the vicar and what a wonderful gentleman he was. Mr Brice was the choir master and he had two daughters and a son in the choir. Weddings at the church were our favourite as we were paid the princely sum of 2/- per wedding and some Saturdays we had two weddings. I can still hear the peal of bells being rung to summons parishoners to the service changing to a single bell to tell them to hurry up.
