This, when still a barn, was rented by the Enfield People's Theatre Group (circa1950) for the assembling and painting of stage scenery. I was one of the members involved in this, scenery having been designed and constructed by a young girl name Joy Culpeck, a student at Hornsey Art School. It was probably acquired by Martin Sykes, local solicitor and director of many of the Society's plays who conveniently lived next door at Fortescue Villas (left of barn).
