Palace Gardens houses
|
Before demolition these houses continued along the whole of the south side of the road to the right and were, at their best, quite desirable residences. They were built of red brick and had basement coal cellars. The coal was shot down through coal plates with a cover, and was just clear of the step to the front door. The Enfield Society has a cover which has been cleaned and treated. All the houses had outbuildings at the back.
