Engraving from the [i]Gentleman's Magazine[/i] September 1784. This image is discussed in David Pam's [i]History of Enfield[/i] vol. 1, p105. The top of the Clarendon Arch over Salmons Brook is visible in the middle of the picture. The buildings in the foreground were the huts for the workmen engaged on constructing an embankment.
