Rear of Eagle House, Hertford Road, Ponders End
This house survived until 1957 and had been home, at various times, to the Revd John Harman, vicar of St James, T.P Whitley JP, and Dr H. Barnes. The entrance hall had a white marble floor and there was a fine oak staircase. When the house was demolished many of the bricks were used in the restoration of Forty Hall. - History of Enfield vol.3, p.164.

I lived in Nag's Head Road from the age of 2 months till I was 12. I seem to remember this house being at the top of the alley that ran at the back of our house. As a child it seemed a very mysterious place a huge garden with if I remember rightly large stone eagles. I can't believe it has gone.
