Band stand on Chase Green
Near site of Cenotaph. Photographed from Harrison's Lane, which ran between Chase Side and Chase Hill before the advent of the railway. Now closed and part of Chase Green, where a double line of lime trees marks the position. In the background are the Wesleyan church, built in 1889 and the magistrate's court, built in 1900. St. Paul's Church had not yet been built at the corner of Old Park Avenue and the drive can be seen to Chase Park House, which was demolished when the railway was built. The new bandstand on Chase Green was built in August 1900. The new court house was opened the same year.
