The Laurels, River View

17th century, listed Grade II. Timber-framed house re-fronted with stucco and parapet in the early 19th century when a back range was added. The central porch with round-headed window is flanked by two-storey square bays. The front garden leads down to the New River Loop, access to the house being gained by a small white-painted wooden bridge. - Treasures of Enfield, page 106.
