Help give Salmons Brook Path in Edmonton a clean-up

You might remember that last December we organised a litter pick along the Salmons Brook footpath in Edmonton so we have decided to revisit this location on Saturday 12th October 2019, meeting at 10am.

We shall meet at Montagu Road Edmonton N9 alongside Montagu Recreation Ground. We shall  tackle the footpath which runs alongside Salmons Brook through to Edmonton Green (Plevna Road). The 192 bus runs from Enfield Town to our meeting point. We shall meet at 10.00 and expect to be on site for a couple of hours. As usual equipment will be provided. Please wear stout footwear. And hopefully there will be an opportunity for coffee afterwards. Please let us know whether or not you expect to attend so that we bring enough equipment.

Getting to the start point

Overground train

It is only 2 stops from Enfield Town station to Edmonton Green. Turn to the right when you leave the station. Pass the grassy area on your right, then cross the road and walk straight ahead through the Asda car park and keep walking straight ahead through the shopping centre, passing Holland and Barrett on your left then cross over Plevna Road where you will see the Salmons Walk footpath ahead of you. Walk along the foot path with the river on your right. At the end of the footpath you will come to Montagu Road with the Texaco petrol station on your right. The meeting point is across the road opposite the petrol station. Approx 10 or 15 minutes walk from the station. There are trains at 09.22 and 09.52 and the journey takes only 5 minutes.

W9 bus

Alight at the Edmonton Green station stop in Church Street, then follow the directions above.

192 bus

If you are coming on the 192 bus from Enfield the stop at which you should get off is Zambesie Drive which is a turning off Montagu Road the meeting point will then be a short distance from the bus stop opposite the Texaco petrol station.

By car

If coming by car it should be possible to park in Montagu Road, or nearby, For satnav purposes postcode N9 0EU, should get you there but a note of caution Zambesie Drive referred above has “private estate, clamping” notices.
