Shop in foreground has signs: "TEA DEALER / STRIBLING / CHEESE-MONGER". The open drain in left foreground appears to lead to culvert under the road.
Note on reverse of print: "Mr J. S. Stribling's father was minister of Zion Chapel 1832-1871 and he died Easter 1882. Mr J. S. Stribling was born in the 1840s. Christ Church (joining of Zion Chapel and Chase Side Chapels) was opened in 1875." The spire of Jesus Church is visible in the distance. There appears to be an open drain or gutter in the left foreground.

Love this picture. It's particularly fascinating for me because my grandfather who was born in 1873 lived with his family in "Chase Side Cottages" during one or more of the Censuses.
