Hailstone & Sons, bakers and confectioners, Southbury Road
Nearly opposite Stanley Road. Note on back of print reads: "Note the early timing mechanism at the top of the gas lamp post. Also cottage and Coburg shape loaves in the shop window, the cottage in two parts and the Coburg in one, both circular in shape. The Coburg had a cut across the top which opened out on baking. The large loaves were 2 lbs in weight and the weight was often made up with an extra piece of bread which we thought tasted better than the main loaf."
